Reform MIS-handling of Health Resources in Missouri

House Bill (HB) 1616 — A bill to reign in state mismanagement of healthcare resources, was voted out of committee and is expected to be debated this week.  The bill addresses the “certificate of need” (C.O.N.) process.  The C.O.N. program is state regulatory “tool” that controls the number of health care resources in an area.

This “tool” is fundamentally anti-free market.  Though it appears to be well-intended, it is fraught with unintended consequences natural to statist overreach.  We support HB 1616 and encourage you to contact your legislators and tell them to get on board with this bill!
